It has taken a long time and a good friend to instil in me the mantra of "you need to work out what you love and love what you do". For her wisdom I will be eternally grateful. Travel has been a large part of my life for what now seems a very long time. It has consistently provided me with food that has nourished my soul. Whether alone, in company, or with family and friends, every trip, every new or revisited destination has delivered experiences that are now enduring memories. The addition of a camera to my travel kit and then the ability to use it proficiently has given my travels a new dimension and allowed me to document those trips and adventures. Through these images I hope to enable others to see through my eyes and hopefully to encourage them to explore and seek out new places of their own.
Travel has changed, accessibility has improved in some places while decreasing in others, the world feels much smaller than it ever has and seeking out places that few have seen, even in photographs, has become almost impossible. But any trip you make will still be an exciting adventure. To broaden your horizon, to breathe a different air and to immerse yourself in a different culture, even for a moment should be enough to drive the quest for further adventure.
“Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all of one’s lifetime.” – Mark Twain
Life is a journey and within it exists the opportunity for many journeys. Each one will change you in some small part, but you will be better for it.
