There is an art to letting go of things, for some it comes more easily than others, but you cannot and should not hold on to things forever. The secret is to know when to let go and this can often be the most difficult consideration of all. Everything has a purpose and your ability to decide when that purpose has been fulfilled or when that purpose is no longer served is critical to you being able to say goodbye. Decluttering your life of stuff and people is a important part of the process of moving forward. You have control of this and only you can decide when and how you tackle this responsibility. If you choose to carry everything with you, you will quickly become exhausted by the burden and weighed down by the anchors to the past.
